                    Grinch Candy Canes

 For the past week I have been racking my brain for an easy, cute, unique gift for the kids to do to give to their class mates. Nothing I saw really jumped out at me, until a friend of mine posted these adorable candy canes on Facebook. Anyone that knows me knows that I love the Grinch and that any more I'm very last minute throw something together. Well when I laied eyes on this idea I knew it was a must! they are super easy and fast to make so if your looking for a last minute treat for your kids to pass out these are it. below is how i made mine and pictures from start to finished project and also the poem:

 WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

1. A computer 
2. Paper- I used white card-stock just so it was sturdy and wouldn't rip easily, but regural printer paper is fine too
3. A printer (with ink) 
4.  Green Candy canes I found mine at Walmart 
5. Ribbon/string
6. Hole puncher 
7. lastly scissors  

                   I started by making the labels right on my computer in word. The first thing I did was insert shape and adjust the size to what I wanted. Second, I inserted another of the same shape, in my case i used  rectangles. With the second rectangle I adjusted the size to be a little smaller than the first so it would fit in side the first with a little edge around it.  Then using "format" shape I picked the colors that I wanted the backgrounds. Next I added the Poem and a picture of the Grinch that I found on google. 
                I was able to fit 8 of the tags on one sheet of paper.  When I was finished making the tags I double checked them with print preview and then printed them out on my card stock. Above in the what you need list I put with ink because my first attempt to print these my printer was out of ink OOPS. That's how much we pay attention to the little warning that pops up too tell you your low LOL. 
             After printed, I proceeded to cut each one out and hole pouch one of the corners. Then I just simple tied a tag onto each of my candy canes with the ribbon i had and was done. My kids absolutely LOVED them and so did their teachers, and classmates.

When the Grinch discovered he couldn't stop 

Christmas from coming on Christmas day,

 He devised a new plan....

though not quite as mean. 

He liked all the candy canes 

til he turned them all green.
